How Do I Schedule my Maternity Shoot ?

Click the "Book a Shoot" tab to open our scheduling tool. You'll see all available session start times listed in the grid. Look for a time which works for you and click it to open the booking form. Fill out the form and submit. Our system will send you a confirmation email/text.

After you book a session, you'll hear from us generally within 24 hours via your preferred communication method to confirm the shoot and go over the details.

You can reschedule or cancel your booking at any time without penalty

When should I schedule my maternity shoot?

Your maternity shoot can happen at any time during your pregnancy. For most expectant mothers we've photographed, most have scheduled their shoot in earlier part of third trimester. This is because it is when your pregnant belly will be at it's fullest, roundest, and most symmetrical prior to the lightening phase of pregnancy (where your baby flips their position to prepare for birth). But, we've also done plenty of maternity sessions earlier or later ... whatever works for you!

Where will my maternity portrait shoot occur?

That's up to you! Some of our clients have us come to their home, some want a natural look in a park or outdoors, or it can occur at our indoor studio in southern Denver. The setting plays a huge role in determing the feel of the finished pictures.

  Outdoor/Nature shoots are popular because it makes sense to showcase a natural life event within a natural context. Plus, Colorado offers some beautiful and grand settings!

  Some of our favorite outdoor locations for maternity photography in the Western Denver Metro area include Red Rocks, Bear Creek Park & Greenbelt,

• Home shoots are intimate, private, and cozy. It will showcase you as you are in your normal day to day life.
• 

  Studio offers complete control of the lighting and environment. All sorts of looks can be accomplished in the studio, ranging from pure-white background (high-key), to dark and moody (low-key), experimental lighting, themed sets, etc.

  Our private studio is conveniently located in Southern Denver and offers a variety of backdrops and lighting options.

What Happens During a Maternity Photography Session ?

We'll meet, get set up and ready, and start taking pictures! You'll be gently directed into a variety of poses, and we'll work together to create scenic moments. We'll shoot hundreds of photos during the session.

Can my partner/kids/dog/cat/etc participate?

That's up to you! We have photographed quite a few women with their husbands and/or kids, but we've also photographed plenty solo too. It all depends on your objectives for the photographs.

How can I make the most of my maternity photograpy experience?

By coming to the shoot mentally prepared! Prior to the shoot, psych yourself up about, think about your objectives, and practice posing in a mirror. This will help you feel confident, and this will come through in the finished photos. Really, a photography session is a collaborative experience, with a dynamic energy flow between a photographer and subject. We strive to infuse it with positive, happy energy, so the best thing for you to do is bring it!

I saw a maternity photo I really liked on social media. Can you recreate it for me?

If you have ideas for the perfect maternity photo, maybe something you saw on Pinterest or in a magazine, we can help you make it happen! If possible, please send it to us in advance in case it will require any special equipment we wouldn't ordinarily bring along.

What should I wear to my maternity photography session?

Anything you'd like! But if you'd like our advice, here's what we found works well:

• Solid color apparel (except for black or white) and simple, bold patterns work best.
• Complement with chunky accessories, like scarves, jewelry, or belts
• Flowing solid color sheer dresses are a popular look and can be ordered from Amazon for as little as $30. See this list @ Amazon for examples

Try multiple outfits! One of the reasons we schedule 90 minute or longer maternity shoots is because it affords you time to change into different outfits so you end up with many different looks! Try a dress (or several!), a casual outfit, or show some skin! How much? That's up to you...we believe every body is a thing of beauty, so we're happy to work to your comfort level.

What happens after my maternity photography session ?

After the session, the photos will be carefully reviewed, picking the best images. These 'keeper' images are then individually hand processed; cropping, balancing, touching up any distracting elements, then processing them with Hollywood-class image enhancement tools to infuse character and personality. You'll receive three different processing variants of the images too: color, black and white, and our signature color style.

How will I get the finished maternity photos?

Finished images are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery, typically within 10 days following the photography session. At that point, you can download files, share them with your friends and family, purchase prints, files, canvas, or choose from many other high-quality print products.

You can also add a usb thumb drive containing the images from your shoot for $20.00

What if I want prints or a printed product?

Our gallery system offers built-in print and product ordering. Products include premium prints, books, canvas enlargements, giclee, metal & acrylic prints, & more. Special projects welcome...we love trying new things with prints!

Why should I order prints from you and not just print my own?

Although the photos from your shoot are yours to do with as you please, including printing, we guarantee that our results will be superior. Here's why:

• We use premium gallery-quality media & printers
• We print from the original raw camera data files, which contain significantly more data than what is contained within a JPG export.
• We care about producing amazing prints, and it shows in the finished product.

We put effort into every aspect of our prints to give you the best quality product possible. Really though...it comes down to this: we (you and us) have put a significant amount of time and effort into creating photos. Why undermine all of that with low quality prints?

What is included in a standard maternity photography session:

Each session includes at least 90 minutes of photography, editing, three-way processing, a password-protected shareable online gallery, and high-resolution JPG files (without watermarks or logos).

All Inclusive Price $649 if located in Denver Metro Area. Please contact me for a quote if you are outside this area.
