How Does a Couple or Engagement Shoot Work?

A couple's photography experience with Ben begins with a brief consultation. During this discussion, we'll talk about where the shoot will occur, what you need to prepare for, and other details about the shoot. On the day of the shoot, you'll be confident and comfortable knowing what to expect.

During the shoot, Ben will gently direct you into poses, and also creating opportunities for moments of candid spontaneity. There is an energy flow between a photographer and his subject, and Ben strives to inject it with positive, happy energy. If you have ideas for the perfect photo, Ben will help you make it happen!

After the shoot, the images will be carefully reviewed, picking the best 10%. These 'keeper' images will be individually processed; cropping, balancing, touching up any distracting elements, then processing them with Hollywood-class image enhancement tools to infuse character and personality. You'll receive three different processing variants of the images too; Ben's trademark color and black and white looks, and a creative look utilizing analog film emulation techniques.

Finished images are delivered via a private, password-protected online gallery, typically within 10 days. At that point, you can purchase prints, files, canvas, or choose from many other high-quality print products.

Some couples have ideas for themes or concepts for their shoot, perhaps something they sale on Pinterest. I'm happy to help execute these! Kindly share your board or images with me prior to the shoot so I can make sure I bring any necessary special equipment. Props are the responsibility of the client!

No concept? No problem. Most couple shoots are just me spending an hour with you and collaboratively finding ways to improvise great shots in the environment we're in.

Each session includes 60 minutes of photography, editing, three-way processing, a password-protected shareable online gallery, and high-resolution JPG files (without watermarks or logos).
